Yesterday in Primary we learned that one of the ladies that came across the plains with the Willie Handcart Company, and was one of the miracles in The 17 Miracles. We found out she is buried here in Logan. It took us a couple of trips today before we found it, but we finally found it. The kids were so excited. They couldn't believe we really found it and that she was buried there. Her name is Elizabeth Cranney, she was the one in the 17 Miracle who left her husband in England and traveled alone with her 2 young kids ages 5 and 1. When the company was starving she was the one who was led by a man to a cave where there was dried buffalo meat. She was directed to take it back and feel the people. The man helped her out of the cave and back to where she could see her handcart company and when she turned to thank him he was gone. So many amazing stories not only with the Willie Company but with all the Saints who gave up everything to come West. Tomorrow is Pioneer Day here in Utah and I am thankful for the sacrifices these amazing people made. I am thankful I can teach my kids about these people and tell them their stories.
