We haven't been able to do many adventures this summer, so we headed up to Bear Lake one weekend with everyone else in Utah. We did find a good beach with not a million people. Bear Lake has always been one of my Favorites. The water was not to bad. Ben is so funny. He loves to learn and is always researching. On most of our adventures he will read about the history or interesting facts about that certain place. I love that about him. I know quite a bit about Bear Lake but I didn't know that it is called the Carribean of the Rockies. It is because of the color of the water, definitely not the climate.
Sun setting over Bear Lake. The kids at the lookout.
After swimming we went camping up St. Charles canyon. It has been about 13 years since I have been up there. It is really pretty. We cooked some hot dogs, and made some smores. The night was very long and cold. Luckily I had thrown in extra blankets. Sunday morning we went on a small hike. We found some huge paw prints. We believe they were bear and Jarrett said that before we went hiking he saw a big blackish brown thing going up the mountain. That would have been nice to know before hand I think. While we were hiking Fletcher found a beehive and him, Ben, Gregor, and Jarrett stepped right on it. Luckily Fletcher was the only one to get stung and it was only once. Ben grabbed Fletcher and they all took off running. Those bees were pretty mad. It was a fun and much needed "Brough Family Adventure."
I feel more blessed everyday with the kids I have and the awesome husband I get to spend the rest of my existence with.
