Fletcher is 3!!!

Today our baby turns 3. He has been a blessing since we found out we were having him. I will admit the last 6 months have been a little harder because of his age. He loves animals, he loves to snuggle, he wants to be like the big kids, and he loves his family so much. He always tells me "Mommy, I love you more." No way he could ever love me more than I love him.

Taken on the day he was born.
 8 months old
2 years old.
Happy Birthday Fletcher. We love you!!!

McGregor is 6!!

Today is McGregor's 6th birthday. Anyone who is around McGregor for five minutes knows how special he is. I haven't met anybody who knows McGregor who doesn't love him. He has captured all of our hearts and blesses our lives everyday. There was one day I didn't know if I was going to be able to see him grow up in this life, but thankfully I have been able to see him grow, learn, and laugh for six years. He is the life of the party. I feel so blessed to be his mom and I learn from him everyday. He is so kind, thoughtful, entertaining, everybody's friend, and one of the most loving people I have ever met. He has my Dad's name Scott as his middle name and he is our child that is the most like the Losee's in resemblence and his personality. There have been times he does things that remind me of my Dad and I am thankful for that. His name McGregor Scott Brough is fitting because he is a little bit of everyone. I love you so much Gregor!!

1st Days.

We had 3 first days this year. Isabelle was the first. She is in the 4th grade this year and it is her first year to be without Jarrett. She wanted a boy teacher this year and she got one. So far she loves her teacher. She is my child that gets homesick and she has had a tough time being alone this year. She misses Jarrett and the rest of us. Hopefully it will get easier for her. As much as she loves school, she is struggling being away. She is such a gentle, amazing person. The older she gets the more I see who she is becoming and I am in awe.
This was a big 1st day for Jarrett. He started middle school!! What happened to my little boy? He was so nervous and so was his mommy. He loves it though. He loves everything about middle school and the older kids have been awesome to him. He is growing up so much so fast. He has such a strong spirit and is always trying to do the right thing. He is such a responsible person and knows what he wants and who he wants to be.
My Gregor was the last one to go and he should have been the first. I can't believe he is old enough to go to Kindergarten. He loves it, he is a little disappointed that they haven't learned anything yet. He says alls they do is walk around;) He  is so eager to learn. He is making friends and can't wait to learn to read.
Overall it was a good 1st day for all three of them. They are finding out new things about themselves and finding out that they are capable of new and amazing things.

St. Charles and Bear Lake

We haven't been able to do many adventures this summer, so we headed up to Bear Lake one weekend with everyone else in Utah. We did find a good beach with not a million people. Bear Lake has always been one of my Favorites. The water was not to bad. Ben is so funny. He loves to learn and is always researching. On most of our adventures he will read about the history or interesting facts about that certain place. I love that about him. I know quite a bit about Bear Lake but I didn't know that it is called the Carribean of the Rockies. It is because of the color of the water, definitely not the climate.
Sun setting over Bear Lake. The kids at the lookout.
After swimming we went camping up St. Charles canyon. It has been about 13 years since I have been up there. It is really pretty. We cooked some hot dogs, and made some smores. The night was very long and cold. Luckily I had thrown in extra blankets. Sunday morning we went on a small hike. We found some huge  paw prints. We believe they were bear and Jarrett said that before we went hiking he saw a big blackish brown thing going up the mountain. That would have been nice to know before hand I think. While we were hiking Fletcher found a beehive and him, Ben, Gregor, and Jarrett stepped right on it. Luckily Fletcher was the only one to get stung and it was only once. Ben grabbed Fletcher and they all took off running. Those bees were pretty mad. It was a fun and much needed "Brough Family Adventure."

I feel more blessed everyday with the kids I have and the awesome husband I get to spend the rest of my existence with.

Bear's and Wicked

For Mother's Day this year I told my Mom we would take her to Bear World. Better late then never right? I enjoyed this trip more than our last two. I didn't think that was possible, but the bears were so active. Bear World is one of our kids favorites. This year we have had tickets to get into the park at half price which has been so nice.
Then on Saturday my Mom, my sisters and I went to WICKED!!!!! Love Wicked. This was my second time seeing it. I think I could go everyday. I love the story and the music. We had a fun day of Gardner's Village, a little shopping at City Creek, and then we finished the night with Wicked. So much fun.

Happy Birthday!!

Our Isabellee is 9!! I can't believe how fast time flies. She is such an amazing girl, she is smart, loving, and just like her daddy in about every way. She is a little mother to everything. She has such a kind hearted, nurturing spirit. I am so blessed to have her as a daughter. She is just so mellow and goes with the flow of life. I am always in awe of her. I love you Isabelle and I hope you have an awesome day:)

One year ago today we said goodbye to my Dad. What a year it has been. Some days it doesn't seem real and then there are other days that it is to real. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him.
So many times lately I pick up the phone to call him or ask him a question. That is when the missing him really gets hard.
I try to hold on to the good memories and keep them close to my heart. I know he is happy and that he is not sick anymore and that makes me happy. There is this quote that I used in my talk last year at his funeral it goes: "Those we love don't go away- they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear. " I am thankful for the knowledge the gospel gives me. I know that I will see my Dad again and that he is going to be with my Dad forever. I know he is still around because I have felt his presence this past year and I am thankful for that. I love you Dad and can't wait until we are able to be reunited.
