Well we headed back to Utah June 28th. Ben was in Reno so me and the kids loaded up and made the long trek home. I will say it seemed like the longest drive ever. We really thought we were never going to make it. We made good time, we were at U of U hospital in 6 hrs 20 min. that is with some stops on the way. We stopped and saw Grandma and Grandpa in the mtns. Isabelle said it best about Nephi. She asked if we were in Utah yet? and I said um yeah we've been in Utah for the last couple of hours and with a sigh she said " finally, we are home!" My thoughts exactly. It was not easy to see my Dad in ICU all hooked up to machines, but I was just glad to be there. After that we headed to my Mom's house for a sleepover.
While we were there we tried really hard to split our time between families equally and it proved to be exhausting and hard. I know now what Jandi and Katie have had to do when they visit. Tuesday I spent the day in Salt Lake sitting with my Dad. We spent Thursday and Friday with Ben's family which we filled with BBQ's, swimming, and Toy Story 3. Saturday I was able to leave the boys with Ben while Isabelle, me, my Mom, Dayna, and Susie headed to SLC for a girls day and a visit with Dad who had made it out of ICU:) Sunday was a trip to SLC so the kids could see Grandpa and then back to Riverside for the Brough Family Reunion. They do this every year. They start the night before the 4th and celebrate the whole next day with a softball tourn., lots of volleyball, lots of food, a little relaxing, and this year the new games were bocce, and speed basketball. The day ended with fireworks that to be honest left a lot to be desired. We headed home late Tuesday.
We were completely exhausted when we got home, but loved our trip to the north. The kids couldn't get enough of family. It was probably harder to leave this time then when we moved, because we all knew how alone we really are in Las Vegas. Thanks to everyone for your hospitality and patience. We love you all and can't wait for our next visit.
